Solar_Power2With the earth quickly using up non-renewable sources of energy, power shortages, warnings about climate change, and the growing demand for energy throughout the world, it is time to start finding ways to live off the grid. By producing your own source of power you will lower or eliminate your electric bill, help

save the environment, and reduce your carbon footprint. This comes out to more money in your pocket, and a cleaner environment for you and your children to live in. Why this might sound drastic at first let me assure you there are several advantages.

So what are the advantages of living off the grid?

First, you are removing your dependability on public utilities provided by the government and large corporations. Remember the last time your power went out during a storm and how helpless you felt until it came back on? How you had absolutely no control over when you might get electricity again to keep your food fresh, to keep warm during that winter storm, or stay cool during the hurricane season? By using alternative power to live off the grid, you will no longer rely on others for your power supply.

Second, how great will you feel not having to pay those electric bills that cost hundreds of dollars a month? Wouldn’t it feel great to use as much power as you need without having to worry about that statement coming in the mail? There are several alternative sources that will allow you to heat and cool your home and make food without the monthly bill. Solar power and wind power are the solution to your problem.

Third, the return on your investment will happen very soon and you will have more money in your pocket to live the life you have always wanted, to send your children to school, to donate to your church or favorite charities, and take a vacation from your everyday life once in awhile. Also, once your investment pays for itself, your energy will be completely free for the rest of your life.

Last but not least, you will be contributing to a cleaner, safer, healthier environment for you and your family. Think about it. Haven’t you ever sat under a large oak tree and thought about the person who planted it over a hundred years ago so that future generations could enjoy it? This is your chance to give back to future generations by cutting down or eliminating your carbon footprint. You will be cutting down on non-renewable resources and improving your quality of life.

If you don’t think it’s a possibility to live off the grid, I suggest you check out a few of the articles on this site and see for yourself how cheap and easy it will actually be.
