Solar_Power54As you may have guessed, Bio-fuels are created when biological matter breaks down. Most Bio-fuels are produced from plants. There are three individual states that Bio-fuels can

be found in: Gases, Liquids, and Solids.

There is a big difference between fossil fuel and bio-fuel. Some of these include:

1. Bio-fuels can be made in a matter of days but fossil fuels take millions of years to form.

2. Bio-fuels produce far less pollution than fossil fuels

3. Fossil fuels are not renewable but bio-fuels can be renewed quickly

Bio-fuels come in different types that include first generation, second generation, third generation, and fourth generation.

First generation bio-fuels are made from starches, sugars, and vegetable fats that come from agricultural food production. They may also be made from different types of animal fat. Examples of first generation bio-fuels include bio-diesel and vegetable oils.

Second generation bio-fuels are made from bio waste such as wood. Types of alcohol and diesel are produced in this manner.

Third generation bio-fuels come from different types of algae. The algae is grown and farmed in great quantities for the sole purpose of creating bio-fuel. This type of fuel is great for the environment because they do not damage soil and are absorbed when broken down.

Forth generation bio-fuels are produced by allowing different types of micro-organisms to work with carbon dioxide.

There are a number of advantages in using bio-fuel over fossil fuels which include:

1. Bio-fuels help by reducing the need for fossil fuels that can not be replaced.
2. Bio-fuels are much better for the environment and reduce carbon emissions.
3. Bio-diesel is actually very cost-effective

However, there are some disadvantages of bio-fuels as well. These include:

1. Because first generation bio-fuels require using food crops, some people believe that it is more important to feed people than to make fuels.

2. Bio-fuels require using large amounts of farming land that may encroach on the natural plants and animals in their habitat.
